MUMBAI: After serving 108 days from the 131-day sentence he was given, troubled hip-hop singer Chris Brown has finally been released from prison. According to reports, the 'Forever' singer was let out at around midnight on Sunday. Following his release, the singer took to his Twitter account posting, "Humbled and Blessed" to his 13.5 million followers.

The 25 year old was arrested in March after he failed to comply with the rules of the rehab facility he had checked into. Although, he was initially sentenced to serve a year, Brown got credit for spending 59 days behind bars and 116 days in rehab, due to which the overall sentence was reduced. Not long after his first tweet, Brown posted two more messages. The first said, "Back to the Music and the Fans", while the other, "Thank You GOD" showed the singer's appreciation of the higher power.

Brown was arrested last October for allegedly assaulting a man, while on probation for his 2009 assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna. The October incident, which took place in Washington D.C, led prosecutors to bring the case before a judge. However, proceedings on that particular case have been postponed to later this month.

The 'With You' singer was also involved in an altercation with rapper Drake, who is currently rumoured to be dating Rihanna.

Earlier reports stated that Brown could have been given a harder sentence of probably spending up to four years behind bars. The singer, however, has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which the judge has taken into account.
