MUMBAI: In a fitting tribute for the late King of Pop, an album by a galaxy of heavy metal stars is set for release on 22 October.

Report from gigwise.com said metal icons such as Iron Maiden, Guns N’ Roses, Testament and Motorhead and several other acts have contributed their musical skills to the King of Pop’s biggest hits in ‘Thriller-A Metal Tribute to Michael Jackson’.

The album will include 13 of the singer’s most popular tracks infused with heavy metal sound and treatment such as classics like ‘Beat It’, ‘Bad’ and ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’.

Among the artists on the album, Testament’s Chuck Billy will feature on the pop icon’s ‘Thriller’ while Guns ‘n’ Roses’ Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal will collaborate with Priya Panda of Diemonds on the very popular ‘Beat It’ and Jackson’s hit ballad ‘Man in the Mirror’ will see Mr Big’s ace bassist Billy Sheehan pair with Asking Alexandria’s Danny Worsnop.

The metal tribute album doesn't come as a surprise to long term fans considering the ‘Black and White’ singer had a number of friends in the heavy metal community. The singer previously teamed up with Eddie Van Halen (for 'Beat It') and Slash of Guns N’ Roses (for 'Dangerous' album).
