Javed Akhtar to deliver keynote address at World Copyright Summit in Brussels

MUMBAI: Javed Akhtar has been invited personally by the president of CISAC,(ex-Bee Gee Robin Gibb) to give a keynote speech followed by a Q&A session at the World Copyright Summit in Brussels. His fellow keynote speakers include two European Commissioners, the director of WIPO and the president of Croatia.

The 2011 World Copyright Summit will take place on June 7 and 8 at the Square Brussels Meeting Centre, and will feature a stellar line-up of some of the world's most forward-thinking creators, experts, industry leaders andpolicymakers. The ten Keynote Speakers are Robin Gibb, singer and songwriter / President of CISAC; Michel Barnier, Commissioner for Internal Market and Services, European Commission; Carlo d'Asaro Biondo, Vice-President, Southern and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa Operations, Google;  Herv?© Di Rosa, visual artist and painter (Mexico),Vice-President of CISAC; Francis Gurry, Director General, WIPO - World Intellectual Property Organisation (Switzerland); Ivo Josipović, composer / President of Croatia; Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Digital Agenda, European Commission; Robert Levine, author of Free Ride - How Digital Parasites are Destroying the Culture Business, and How the Culture Business Can Fight Back... (USA); Arnaud Nourry, Chairman and CEO, Hachette Livre (France), and Frank Stella, painter and sculptor (USA).

Another 56 eminent professionals have confirmed as speakers at the summit.

As its name implies, this is the bi-annual, apex meeting of the world's most forward-thinking creators, experts, industry leaders and policymakers.
