Singer Shruti Pathak turns RJ for Fever FM

MUMBAI: Singer and lyricist Shruti Pathak has entertained many music lovers with her musical skills for many years now. But, this has not limited her from experimenting and taking new steps. The singer is opening up a new chapter in her life by taking on the role of a Radio Jockey (RJ) and through this plans to achieve her dream of making fusion Ghazals- a big phenomenon.

Pathak is hosting a weekly show 'Guzzler -The spirit of ghazals', starting 6 July and will air in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore. Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, Pathak said, "We were planning the project for a more than three months. Finally after all the hard work, it is ready to be delivered to audiences." The show will be interactive, focusing on Ghazals and will have many artistes speaking about fusion Ghazals. "My band Guzzler will perform during the show and will have artistes - some who are my friends and some senior artistes from the music industry."

"I presented my idea to Fever FM and then I designed the show to suit the needs of the audiences. Fever FM is a good platform which suits the receptivity the show demands. The team was very positive about the show and helped me put the whole idea in place. Everybody got involved on this project with great enthusiasm." A couple of episodes of the show have already been recorded, and the promo has been released.

"I am very excited about the show as it is my show. I have held the mic for singing before but never to discuss my passion and love for the music I endorse," Pathak added.

In a previous interview with Radioandmusic.com, she spoke about her band 'Guzzler', which is also conceptualised by her, just like the radio show. The project 'Guzzler' is a way to connect with the new generation by introducing fusion Ghazal which will interest the youth.

She also plans to unveil her new single once the show has been established and is running smoothly, Pathak revealed.

The Filmfare award nominee has lent her voice to songs like 'Shubhaarambh', 'Rasiya', 'Mar Jawaan', 'Criminal' and 'Tooh' to name a few.
