Three bands battle it out to reach close to Hard Rock Live Rome music festival

MUMBAI: 10 April is touted to be the D-day for the local bands like The Koniac Net, The Indo Gypsies and Twist to Break Seal. These bands will compete against each other to attain a top spot at the Hard Rock Rising 2014. The winning band will be selected to represent Hard Rock Cafe Mumbai and will move on to compete against other winners from Hard Rock Cafe locations around the world.

The winner will get the opportunity to represent the city in Hard Rock Rising's global battle of the bands competition. The grand prize winner will win an all-expenses paid trip to Rome, to perform at the first Hard Rock Live Rome music festival this summer. The contest started on 20 March and is hosted by Hard Rock Cafe Mumbai. The final battle in Mumbai will be judged by Arpito Gope and Leslie Lewis.

The voting process took place on the FaceBook page and the finale in Mumbai will start at 8.30 pm on 10 April at Hard Rock Cafe, Worli.

The panel consisting Steven Van Zandt, Bonnie McKee and more, will select the grand prize winner and two runner-up bands. The entry fee for this showdown is Rs 200 and the part of the proceeds of the entry charges at the event will be donated to Aide et Action South Asia which empowers girl child education.

The prize winner gets a chance to perform for an outdoor music festival which will attract more than 50,000 fans across Italy, and the selected runner-up bands will each receive new music equipment and gear valued at $10,000.

'Twist to Break Seal' is five-member alternative rock band from Mumbai, 'The Koniac Net' is Indie Rock / Alternative Rock band based in Mumbai and Folk- Fusion band Indo Gypsies will also be competing in the battle.
