Shouvik Roy and Sunny Dutta Fame Come Together For Indie Song- Come Into My Room

MUMBAI: What happens when you're 41 and want to write and sing your songs all over again. No, you don't call your friends in the industry. You work with talented upcoming artists. Produce and record your own single. Release it as an indie record. Get it distributed on multiple digital channels. Tell a few friends on Facebook. And before you know it you have a single ensconced in the Top 50 songs in India on iTunes. And the only Indie song up there. This is exactly what Shouvik Roy did with his first single 'Come Into My Room'. The single was released on the 4 of October 2013.

'Come Into My Room' is not a regular chart buster type song. It is mature, melancholic and makes for easy listening. The singer songwriter believes that every song has to make you 'feel'. And that is exactly what this song does to you.

Shouvik Roy collaborated with Sunny Dutta who is a known guitar player in Delhi and is the lead of the band Dhun. This is a venture for Sunny as well – as he gets away from playing traditional Rock/Progressive Rock to mixing jazz elements into a song that can be best classified as a Acoustic Folk genre.

The song is uplifting, experiential and urges everyone to come and experience the better life. And to not get boxed in.

Shouvik does not believe in classifying or sharply defining the genre – he says there are only two genres – the one's you like and the one's you don't.

It has taken a year to come back to the studio and work together with Sunny to bring this single out. 'There is more coming' says Shouvik. But, each one of them will be tough to classify.
