Bangalore : As a part of the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations, one of the leading radio stations in Bangalore 92.7 BIG FM announced special awards for the young achievers in Karnataka. With a view to honour these young turks who have contributed to commerce, industry or society in a BIG way in the recent past, the radio station conferred on them the title of Hacchevu Kannadada Deepa 2013 (Lets light the lamp of Kannada Culture) in the presence of media here today.

Hacchevu Kannadada Deepa 2013 is an exclusive platform that acknowledges, applauds and recognizes the versatile and outstanding talent of the young achievers of Karnataka. Amongst other awardees, 92.7 BIG FM Bangalore Station Head Kiran Thangarajan honoured Shekar Naik, the incredible Captain of the Indian Blind Cricket team who lifted the trophy of T20 World Cup for visually challenged. The platform also recognised achievers in the field of entertainment. Pawan Kumar, the most critically acclaimed filmmaker of recent times, was honoured for his success with Lucia.

The award ceremony also honoured the immensely talented Shraddha Somanth, a child prodigy, for bagging two silver medals at the Asian Schools Chess Meet. He was accompanied by Girish Kumar, renowned for instituting an all-new category for the 'longest tube passed through the nose in one minute' at the Guinness Book of Records. Hacchevu Kannadada Deepa also honoured the most talked about young entrepreneur and writer of recent times - Varun Agarwal who is a 27 year old founder of a million dollar e-commerce company.
