Sony Music brings ace composer Sandeep Chowta's international dream project to life û 'Matters of the Heart'

MUMBAI: Sandeep Chowta with his magnificent art of composing brings back another international album Matters Of The Heart with Sony Music. The album is Sandeep's dream project that brings his aspirational heroes to work from All Over The World, yet retaining its ancient soul & making the project very close to Sandeep Chowta's heart. The album is available in India exclusively on iTunes

In a first for a non-film genre, especially jazz, Matters of the Heart has been climbing up the music charts every day and is now on #4 ahead of albums by artists such as Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Bollywood film albums.

Says Sandeep Chowta, “I am very glad that the album is being very well received. In the days of Bollywood and international Pop ruling the charts, it is very difficult for non-film independent music to be noticed. It only goes to say that one needs to believe in the music one is making and not worry about what will work and what won't. Matters of the heart is a celebration of life's moments through music. Do listen to the album and celebrate with me.”

In Matters Of The Heart, Sandeep Chowta revisits songs that were composed in earlier days and at different points in his life but were never quite finished. Now after 7 years Sandeep Chowta has successfully managed to present his modern-day jazz tunes with his own unique blend of the cinematic and the pure soul. The album features an array of the Jazz fusion masters entwined in Indian tunes that give it a Sandeep Chowta flavor that is both special and modern. The list of renowned artists include several Grammy and Oscar winning artists such as Dave Grusin (Oscar winning composer of films like Tootsie,On golden pond,The Firm,Tequila Sunrise,3 days of condor) ; Lee Ritenour; Mitch Forman (Mahavishnu Orchestra & Wayne Shorter); Chuck Loeb (of Fourplay fame); Scott Henderson; Dave Weckl, Eric Marienthal, Frank Gambale (of Chick Corea Electric Band fame); Tom Schuman, Jay Beckenstein, Scott Ambush (of Spyro Gyra fame) ;Jimmy Haslip, Russel Ferrante, William Kennedy (of Yellow Jackets fame); Pt. Vishwamohan Bhatt; Ricardo Silveira, Patrice Rushen (Composer of Forget me Nots, Men in Black II), Miriam Stockley (The Voice of Adieumus fame), Dave Valentin, Virgil Donati, Bunny Brunel, Deepak Pandit, Naveen Kumar, Sonu Kakkar, Brett Garsed, Scott Kinsey, Gary Willis, Jimmy Johnson (of The James Taylor Band), Simon Phillips (of Toto fame), Tony Das among others.

Matters Of The Heart consists of 17 tracks, all composed by Sandeep. Sandeep wants this album to be a standard bearer for what he would like to call a genre yet to be defined – a true fusion on the purest musical level. He is hoping that he will be able to convince people and bring them with him on a musical journey. He will present both authentic and distinctive styles that will make it a must buy album in India.
