Delhi-based folk band RUN! It's the kid plans to launch debut EP in May

MUMBAI: After performing at various well-known music festivals, such as the Vans New Wave Festival and the NH7 Weekender Festival, and most recently the I Haat Delhi festival, folk band RUN! It's the kid is finally aiming at launching its first EP in May, said vocalist Shantanu Pandit.

"We started working on the album in December last year, and we plan to put it out by May 2015," said Pandit. The self-titled EP will consist of five original songs, and one instrumental overture. Pandit also said that the band plans to release the EP independently, and not under any label. "We plan to start our marketing campaign for the promotion of the EP in April, and shortly after, we are looking at releasing the singles," he added.

However, nothing is confirmed yet. The album has been recorded, and is currently in post-production. Pandit further stated that the track they performed for BalconyTV ‘Forgetting How to Swim' will be featured on the EP, but in its original version, and not the stripped acoustic version that they played for BalconyTV.

While going about the promotional marketing campaign, the band will also upload new tracks on its Soundcloud page, where it will be available for streaming, and on iTunes, where it will be available for purchase. Pandit also said that the band has refrained from uploading any of its older material, because it is not entirely happy with the content.

Pandit, as a solo singer/songwriter, also released a five-track EP last year called ‘Skunk in the Cellar', under Pagal Haina Records. Pandit previously opened for Prateek Kuhad for the launch of Kuhad's latest album ‘In Tokens and Charms.'
