Wicked Weekender to bring a new live set by Parekh & Singh

MUMBAI: Wicked Weekends is on the way to High Spirit Cafe in Pune on 12 August from 8:30pm onwards. The festival that is conceptualised with the aim of redefining and reinvigorating nightlife in India continues to celebrate nightlife, with seven more shows to go till the finale of Season I.  A multi-city urban nightlife campaign that aims to redefine and reinvigorate the nightlife scene in India, has featured indie acts like Raghu Dixit, Riddim Funktion Collective, Junkyard Groove, Donn Bhat + Passenger Revelator and electronic music producers like Sound Avtar, Anish Sood, Mojo Jojo, Gurbax and Sartek among others across party hotspots in India such as Summerhouse Café, Hauz Khas Social, High Spirits Café, Euriska, Indigo Live, Gatsby 2000, Someplace Else among many others and hopes to become the one-stop nightlife guide for artists and audience alike.

Jivraj grew up onstage and backstage following his parents’ band while Nischay’s household was sound tracked by his mother’s lucky-dip cassette hoard of pop classics from Frank Sinatra, Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder to Geri Halliwell and Latino rock power trio Los Lonely Boys. Sunday mornings for the two were dedicated to Jagjit Singh and the evening for Elvis. Having recently played across seven cities in UK and Ireland in a span of 10 days, the Kolkata based Dream Pop duo is gearing up for their monsoon tour across the nation starting with Bengaluru on the 10 August. Having released their latest video in May 2017, they garnered almost six Lac views with their Wes Anderson influenced video.

Nischay Parekh sings, plays the guitar, keyboards and synths and Jivraj Singh plays the drums, drum machines and effects. While Nischay has one foot in this world and the other in the realm of dreams, Jivraj is a student of math and logic and drawn to life’s darker recesses.
