Bringing out the flavour of Uttar Pradesh, the soundtracks from the Yash Raj camp ‘Ishaqzaade’ has conquered hearts with its startling composition by uber-talented Amit Trivedi. Basking on the success of chartbusters like Dev D, Wake up Sid, Udaan and Aisha, the music director has managed to engage listeners with compositions oozing grunge and energy.

The ferocious-looking love saga set against the backdrop of rustic India, is compiled of seven tracks which acquires sober, smoothening and melodious makeover of musical happening.

The tenderly pitched soft-rock ballad ‘Ishaqzaade’ acts as the curtain raiser of the album. The track highlights soft-verve of the love-chemistry rendered by Javed Ali's and Shreya Ghoshal's modulates romantic groovy emotion. The number features typical jazz music interspersed well with percussions, table-loops, trumpets soft-drums and guitar strings.  The compelling composition and revolutionary narrative lyrics penned by Kausar Munir succeeds in bringing a positive response for the track and lends an evocative background score.

The high-octane track ‘Chokra jawan’ penned by Habib Faisal and crooned by Vishal Dadlani and Sunidhi Chauhan reminisces the 90’s era with high-pitched voices and dhol beats. The boisterous desi number tinged with sluggish tempo and zesty lyrics lacks the desired ardent impact of the item number. The track cashes largely on the notable pitchy rendition of the singers.

The full throttle composed Pareshan which has been making waves on charts showcases the serene potency of Shalmali Kholgade vocals. The dramatic rock sound converging with the harmonium and desi elements blend well with the ballistic groovy vocal shifts of the singer. The lyrics further bring in a breeze of innocence immersed in flows of sensuality.

The remixed version of the track integrates a haunting flute merged with the dubstep and electronica synth-beat thrives enhancing to a conventional club-house track. The number definitely reserves its spot in DJ’s charts.

Bringing a comic-relief to the album, the sound track Jhalla Wallah provides new spin on the usual romantic number. The arrangement highlights various harmonic interludes smoothly integrated with the orchestrated music. The well-verse ode revolves around the leisurely high tempo beats providing impression of an item number. The track is also available in a remix version with the faster tempo and the increased dub-step beats which collides well with Neumann Pinto voice.

The album concludes on an electrifying note with the energetic vocals of rocker Suraj Jagan and Divya Kumar on a vigorous track Aafaton Ke Parindey. The vivacious composition summarizes the rebellious attitude through the rendition of Jagan which varies with the interludes. The full throttle music seamlessly overlays dubsets beat with the grungy sound that hooks listeners to the song. The aggressive lyrics has further added flavour to already zesty tracks.

Overall, Amit Trivedi has once again succeeded in delivering an innovative soundtrack lending his versions of the typical desi, romantic and item numbers. The vivaciously tuneful musical album thrives on emoting several emotional shades through the track like ‘Pareshan’, ‘Jhalla Wallah’ and ‘Aafaton Ke Parindey.’ The album also introduces newbie Shalmali Kholgade whose soothing vocals for ‘Pareshan’ has administered to clasp listeners throughout the track. The album with five original tracks manages to strike a chord with the listener and worth a shot.
