Director Manish Tiwary of ‘Dil Dosti Etc’ fame returns after six years with the Prateik Babbar-Amyra Dastur starrer Issaq. Tiwary’s Issaq is the modern adaption of William Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' that is based in Banaras. The film stars Prateik Babbar and debutant Amyra Dastur. The film will hit theatres on 26 July.

The filmmaker ropes in not one but four music composers Sachin-Jigar, Krsna and Sachin Gupta. There are six original tracks and an unplugged version.

Issaq offers unique arrangements and definitely is worth a listen.

The first track of Issaq (male version)  ‘Issaq Tera’ rendered by Mohit Chauhan is melodious track and Chauhan gives the soul to the track. The lyrics are simple and are penned by Mayur Puri. The music for this is given by Sachin-Jigar. Lyrics of duet ‘Issaq Tera’ are different from the male version but have the same voice of Chauhan captures the listeners accompanied with Smithaa Jain who renders the female version.

‘Jheeni Re Jheeni’ is rendered by Rashid Khan and Prathiba Baghel. It is semi-classical in term of music. It's a slow song complete light tabla and alaaps. The song is very well balanced, since Khan's voice is strong, while Baghel's vocals are very soft. Both vocalists are exceptional at classical singing and truly make the the song.

Indian Ocean lead vocalist Rahul Ram and Sachin Gupta renders for ‘Bhole Chale’. Lyrics are penned by Anil Pandey and music is based on Lord Shiva. The track is high on energy and has the hoarse vocals that add up the liveliness to the track. The ending of the track has a mix of surprises in music.

Ankit Tewari gives voice to the track ‘Aag Ka Dariya’ in which one can hear heavy drumming. This track like the rest track has good lyrics. Tewari’s voice is hidden behind the music. Jigar Saraiya and Sachin Sanghvi have composed the music and the meaningful song is penned by Neelesh Misra. ‘Aag Ka Dariya unplugged’ is rendered by Sachin Gupta.

Dance number ‘Enne Unne’ is a qawwali style based track which has some bizarre lyrics. The naughty lines of the track take you to a crazy ride. This track is a package of Kirti Sagathia, Papon, Mamta Sharma and Tarun Sagar’s voice. The music is composed by Krsna and lyrics are penned by Puri.

‘Bhagan Ke Rekhan Ki’ is based on the sorrow to bid farewell to daughter after her marriage. It is has the earthy voice of Malini Awasthi and Raghubir Yadav which gives the extra human touch. Saraiya and Sanghvi have given the music and again Mishra is behind the lyrics of the song.

Overall, the soundtrack is a mix of different music and style. Interesting pack of music from heavy drumming-based tracks to classical-melodic track.
