MUMBAI: British music tycoon and entrepreneur Richard Branson has announced Calgary will be the site of his Virgin Music Festival next year.The businessman, who owns Virgin Records and Virgin Airlines, says Calgarians like the idea of the festival but don`t want to fly all the way to Toronto or London to see it says a report.

The 2008 event will be held on 21 and 22 June 2007 at Fort Calgary.

A lineup has not yet been announced, but in the past the festival has pulled in names such as The Police, The Killers, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Smashing Pumpkins.The event has already been held in Toronto and Vancouver.
