U2 tops Forbes list of richest musicians

MUMBAI: Irish band U2 has topped the Forbes Top-Earning Musicians of 2010 list raking in a moolah of $130 million earning, the massive amount from its 360 degrees tours, endorsement deals and merchandising.

The band ranking tooped the list despite being forced to pull out some 16 concerts across the U.S. and Canada, including stops in Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal, including a headline slot at Glastonbury when frontman Bono suffered a back injury in May. Those concerts have been put over until next spring.

Coming in at No. 2 on the Forbes list were metal musicians AC/DC at $114 million, followed by Beyonc?© Knowles at $87 million. Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band and Britney Spears rounded out the top five.

Last year's richest singer was Madonna, who still made it onto the top 10 this time.

Lady Gaga at seventh position was the most notable name of recent time, making $62 million. Coldplay and Black Eyed Peas both shared the tenth spot with $48 million.
