Swedish House Mafia to rock Mumbai and Bangalore in January 2013

MUMBAI: Electronic Dance Music heavyweight Swedish House Mafia (SHM) is set to return to Mumbai in January 2013 as part of its final world tour titled ‘One Last Tour’. As a surprise addition to its fans, the trio will also visit Bangalore for a performance in January.

Earlier, the gig was cancelled due to the sad demise of Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray on 17 November in the city.

Clearing speculations on the concert, the organizers have announced the show dates as 20 January in Bangalore and 22 January in Mumbai.

Swedish House Mafia tweeted, “India. We return. Bengaluru 20th Jan. Mumbai 22 Jan. All info on swapping your wristbands is on our facebook or on Submerge's sites.”

Initially, the Swedish DJ trio was scheduled to play on 17 November  in Mumbai and 18 November in Delhi. Though the Delhi gig was on schedule and received a massive response, music aficionados in the city will have to wait until they can meet their favourite EDM DJs. The band comprising of three House DJs and producers - Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso announced their break-up on 24 June 2012.

Commencing from16 November at Dubai, the band performed in Delhi as part of Sunburn Arena.  India will be the first leg of SHM's world tour which will also cover South Africa and Russia for the first time. The tour will hit North America from February 2013 where the band will again play at New York's Madison Square Garden as well as a night at the Barclay Center.
