Sony DADC appoints Rajat Kakar as business head

MUMBAI: Sony DADC Manufacturing India has appointed Rajat Kakar as business head of Home Entertainment Services.

In his new role, Kakar will be based in Mumbai and work closely with international and Indian content holders and help shape the traditional and emerging retail landscape for Home Entertainment in India.

Confirming the news with RnM he said, “I had join Sony in mid-September. But the formal announcement came later because I had to fulfill some prior obligations and engagements.

Kakar was previously managing director of Universal Music in India.

“We are delighted to welcome such an experienced person as Rajat on board. With his comprehensive understanding of publisher needs and the retail landscape, he will play a major role in Sony DADC’s move towards becoming an end to end supply chain service company,” said Sony DADC International EVP Chris Reiser.

“I am more than excited to join this team and delighted to be mandated with setting up a state of the art, sales, marketing and distribution entity which will maximize sales growth for the international studios as well as for local content holders,” added Kakar
