Sony BMG releases Shraddha Pandit's 'Teri Heer'

NEW DELHI: Shraddha Pandit, who has earlier done playback playback for films like Khamoshi-The Musical, Sangharsh, Khoobsurat, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hai, Soch and Raju Chacha- has now come out with a new album for which she has not only sung but written and composed the lyrics 

The new album 'Teri Heer' by the 24 year old singer, combines Sufi and Indian genres and has been released by Sony BMG.

Teri Heer is a blend of Indian melody and contemporary orchestration with all the eight tracks enhanced by the emotions of a young heart. It showcases a young woman's feelings towards love, which she is eager to express without any hesitation – akin to the epic love story of Heer and Ranjha. Shrradha tries her hand for the first time at composing for this album and comes away with stupendous results. She has attempted to cover all styles such as folk, classical, Bollywood with a tinge of western music. This sound is uniquely her own – rich and soulful with a variety of textures.

The album is supported by a music video for the lead track Teri Heer. It has been directed by Samir Hafiz and features Shrradha in the video.

Shrradha Pandit hails from a prestigious household of classical music powerhouses, also known as India's Mewati Gharana of music. She learnt Hindustani Classical Music from her late grandfather and guru, the renowned Sangeet Acharya Pandit Pratap Narayanji. She now trains under the guidance of her father Vishwaraj Pandit who is a renowned tabla player himself 

She has been singing in films and featuring in private pop albums, devotional albums, concerts and shows. She has worked with successful and talented greats like AR Rehman, Sonu Niigaam, Shaan and Sukhwinder across the globe.
