Shafqat rocks Mumbai

After wowing audiences in Delhi with his ouvre earlier last week, Pakistani 'rock star' singer Shafqat Amanat Ali delighted Mumbai with a concert on Saturday evening.

Mitva, Yeh Hausla.. and Mora Saiyyan could well be the feathers in his cap, but Shafqat proved that he could spin equal magic with all genres....weaving his way from slow paced to the pacy songs that made up his performance at the ITC Grand Central. An eclectic gathering, comprising the cream of society and genuine music enthusiasts, soaked in Shafqat's music for well over two hours as he worked his way through his older songs, those from his new album Tabeer and some from yet to be compiled albums. The ones that drew the most claps, no doubt, were the popular Mitva and Mora Saiyyan..

Before his new album Tabeer was officially launched by Music Today later in the evening, Shafqat charmed his audiences, weaving through the listeners singing their favourite verses, getting some of the audiences to croon with him and delighting the crowd with his chaste Urdu.
