Rihanna may take one year break from music

MUMBAI: After working for seven years continuously, R&B singer Rihanna is reportedly stated to be taking a yearlong break from music after her ‘Diamonds’ world tour wraps up.

As per reports, popular radio host Ryan Seacrest announced on his show that Rihanna would be taking the break before she starts work on her next studio album.

He told his listeners, “She has been in this go mode for a while. Seven hit records in seven years. Sold-out tours, but sources say after this tour wraps, she plans to take up to a year off to unwind.”

After commencing her ‘Diamonds’ world tour last Friday in New York, Rihanna was forced to cancel her 10 March concert in Boston due to a recent contraction of laryngitis.

She tweeted, “#BOSTON this is the hardest thing for me to deal with! I feel like we've been waiting on this day forever, and I'm hurt that I let you down.”

But she will be performing 33 shows in North America before going to Europe in May where she will perform in Spain, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Turkey, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Britain. Her tour will culminate on 28 July in Finland.

In her seven year career, the singer has released seven successful albums, embarked on four major world tours, created two fragrances and designed an entire fashion line.
