Over Rs 9 mn demanded for cancellation of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's show in Gurgaon

NEW DELHI: Delhi-based events management firm, Trzy Eventz has filed a police complaint against the Indian manager for Pak-based singer Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan demanding a sum of around seven million which was spent on organizing a musical evening of the singer in Delhi which got canceled at the last minute.

In a police complaint, Dishant Badlani of Trzy Eventz has also demanded a sum of Rs 2.7 million which was allegedly paid to Chitresh Shrivastava who is the Indian manager of the singer.

Badlani told Radiondmusic.com that he had been given assurances since 7 July that the event would be held and arrangements were being made to get a visa for Khan.

However, a short e-mail message was sent on the night of 30 July that the Sufi singer could not come �due to unavoidable reasons'. Earlier the same day, Shrivastava had assured Badlani that his people were at the High Commission to get a visa for Khan.

Badlani said he had spent around Rs seven million in making the local arrangements for the programme scheduled for 31 July in Huda Gymkhana Club in Gurgaon and he had for the present only asked for reimbursement of these and the fee paid to Shrivastava
