Radio KFC announces its radio jockeys across India

MUMBAI: Encouraging new talent to present themselves on-air, Radio KFC held a nationwide RJ hunt across all its outlets in the country. Karishma Menon from Mumbai, Atul Duggal from Indore and Shubham Khanna from Bareilly are declared as the winners.

The winners were selected from over 3000 demos submitted from over 30 cities. They will now air their own show and entertain listeners every month across 200 KFC restaurants in India. RJ Karishma, MC La Cozy and RJ ShubZ will talk about interesting trivia, their favourite songs, narrate jokes and more through their show.

Speaking about the platform, KFC India & Area Countries general manager Tarun Lal said, “Music is a huge youth passion and our popular music platform, Radio KFC is giving amateur artists a launch pad to showcase their talent. We believe that everyone has an artist within, and the Radio KFC RJ hunt proved to be the first in a series of initiatives to give that artist a chance to shine. The response to the nationwide contest was fantastic and we are excited to announce our first RJs.”

Radio KFC is an exclusive in-house radio station, playing in KFC restaurants across India. Curated by Blue Frog, the station churns out fresh music throughout the day, tweaking the tempo and genre of the music to suit the time of day. The channel was also promoted through social media on Facebook with a poll ‘Fanchoice’, where consumers selected the songs they wanted to hear.

Making the most of the radio station, KFC extended the concept to give their fans a platform to showcase their talent. The special RJ hunt application was launched on the company’s Facebook page, and the company also launched a toll-free number for contestants to record their demos.
