Pt Jasraj, Dr L Subramaniam perform at Idea Jalsa

MUMBAI: Idea Jalsa brought two legends, Pandit Jasraj and Dr L Subramaniam together for a performance dedicated to restoration of Indian music and culture in Mumbai on Friday evening.

Idea Jalsa is a nationwide annual Indian music extravaganza promoted by Idea Cellular Limited in partnership with the Indian Music Academy. dea Cellular Limited managing director Sanjeev Aga says, "This move is to spread and popularise the rich culture and tradition of all genres of indian music. Through this initiative, we have made great efforts to create an overall impact towards the society by strengthening and binding the citizens of this country to its popular and traditional cultural roots."

Concurs IMA founder trustee Durga Jasraj, "Last year, our initiative showcased only Indian classical musicians. However, this year we are expanding our horizon to include other genres like Sufi, Ghazals, Bhajans and Indian classical music. It is our privilege to ensure that we entertain our audiences with a performance by Pt Jasraj ad Dr L Subramaniam in Mumbai as the people who belong to this place have an undying appetite for classical music."

Under the aegis of Idea, the concerts organised by the IMA are a unique amalgamation of artistes and audiences, witnessing cross genre music and trendsetting interactive sessions, arousing awareness about music.
