Michael Jackson's Thriller named greatest video

MUMBAI: Even after three decades, Michael Jackson's groundbreaking Thriller is still named as the greatest video of all time.

The creepy video depicting late singer transforming into a supernatural character has surpassed Lady Gaga's Telephone' and 1975's vintage promo – Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody' in the list. Bohemian Rhapsody and Telephone ranked third and seventh respectively.

The video once again received maximum votes from musicians in the poll organized by the website musicradar.com.

Thriller created by John Landis, the director of An American Werewolf in London,' was the most expensive video of its time worth half a million dollars when it was first shown in 1983. Michael Jackson 14-minute film is credited in turning the pop videos into an art form of their own.

MusicRadar editor-in-chief Will Groves said, "Lady Gaga ran Thriller very close, but it still seems right that the promo that saw the birth of the pop video as a cultural event should hold the top spot - for now."
