Kevin Arnold named co-chair of NARM's digitalmusic.org

MUMBAI: Kevin Arnold, Sony Music Entertainment EVP and senior advisor to the global digital business group, will  serve as the co-chair with Christina Calio of Microsoft of digitalmusic.org. The announcement was made by National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM).

digitalmusic.org, is  the home of music business association NARM’s digital initiatives.

NARM and digitalmusic.org vice president of digital strategy and business development said, “Between the work he’s currently doing to expand Sony Music Entertainment’s digital business and the tremendous entrepreneurship and leadership he demonstrated in the creation and growth of IODA, Kevin is precisely the type of person we want to help lead digitalmusic.org. Kevin has deep understanding and experience in all of the key initiatives that digitalmusic.org is focused on, from the business, technological, and musical angles, and it’s fantastic to have him as part of the team.”

Prior to joining Sony Music, Arnold founded IODA which merged with The Orchard in 2012.

Arnold said, “Having been a NARM participant since the early days of IODA, I've had a front row seat watching the dramatic change the industry has undergone over the past decade. I look forward to helping guide digitalmusic.org’s future as we face a new set of opportunities and challenges.”

Arnold is also founder and director of Noise Pop Industries, which produces San Francisco’s internationally renowned Noise Pop Festival along with the Treasure Island Music Festival and a variety of other cultural events in the Bay Area. In 2003, Kevin served as director of Data Services for online music startup Listen.com and also spent time at the computer technology corporation Oracle.
