MUMBAI: Mumbai based Zygnema has made it to the finals of I-Rock and will now compete against bands like Inner Sanctum (Bengaluru), Gravy Theory (Kolkata), Abraxas (Pune) and Seize Her (Delhi) on October 3, 2009 at the Chitrakoot grounds for the I-Rock Grande finale 

Zygnema is a metal band from Mumbai and their genre can easily be in heavy /thrash/ power metal. They have accumulated a reputation of winning competitions and generating insane mosh-pits in their live shows. A very jubilant Jimmy said, It was a tough competition and, the other contenders too were excellent. We just put in our best efforts to beat the others,... he added. The band is largely influenced by Metal band Zygnema is largely influenced by bands like Pantera, Sepultura, Opeth, Machine Head, Decapitated and Morbid Angel.

Apart from Delhi based Seize Her, the rest making it to the finals are metal bands. Mumbai, which is known for the metal inclined crowd will surely have a lot to look forward as besides the participant bands, Infernal Wrath and Demonic Resurrection (both heavy metal) will also be performing. Those in for some classic rock sounds will have to look forward to the pro band performances that happen the next day as last years winners Silver, Warren of Strat Blues and Motherjane take the stage.
