Indian Idol Junior should have five winners: Lata Mangeshkar

MUMBAI: Indian Idol Junior is grabbing lot of eyeballs; the latest star that has tweeted about Indian Idol Junior was Melody Queen Lata Mangeshkar who expresses that there should be more than one winner.

Earlier, actors like Salman Khan and Farhan Akhtar had also praised the children for participating in the show.

As per reports, the 83-year-old tweeted, “I am watching 'Indian Idol Junior' and the kids are singing really well, especially Anmol. It's very unfair that only one winner is selected in such shows. I request the team of 'Indian Idol Junior' to give away awards to the top five; this will make them happy and interested to pursue singing as a career."

The children who are competing to become the first Indian Idol Junior are Anmol Jaswal, Nirvesh Sudhanshubhai Dave, Debanjana Karmakar, Sonakshi Kar, Akash Sharma, Anjana Padmanabhan, Aryan Das, Priyam Borpatra Gohain, Sankalp Yaduwanshi, Eman Chaudhar and Sugandha Amol Date.

Farhan Akhtar who appeared on the show to promote his upcoming film and also tweeted, “What a treat the Indian Idol juniors are..Pure talent. So lucky to have heard them live. Best wishes to them all.”

The singing reality show is judged by singer Shreya Ghoshal, composer-singer Shekhar Ravjiani and Vishal Dadlani and acts as a platform for the age group of 5 to 15.
