Demonic Resurrection surpasses One Direction

MUMBAI: Demonic Resurrection's latest album 'The Demon King' has become the second most popular album in the English language category on Flipkart, the biggest e-commerce store in India. The Demon King, which was released in July, is a heavy metal album that distributed through Universal Music in the country.

Demonic Resurrection's fourth album, 'The Demon King' was long awaited by their fans after a break of almost four years since their previous album. In just over a month, the album has surpassed sales for One Direction's 'Midnight Memories'. It now stands behind Linkin Park's 'The Hunting Party' on number two position. Fans have said that this is the band's best work so far and the album has received critical acclaim internationally as well. It has also got rave reviews by Metal Hammer, Metal Recusants, Total Rock and many other publications.

Sahil Makhija, frontman and vocalist of the band, who is also a social media buff, posted on Facebook, "in keeping with the good news The Demon King is #2 on flipkart.com in the Rock/Metal/Alternative Genres. #7 in ALL MUSIC!!! And something like that. With 52,000 fans on Facebook from India this album has the potential to be the biggest selling indie album of all time if most of those fans are real and buy the album." Every once in a while Makhija takes to social media to promote his work, not just with DR but also, Workshop and Reptilian Death.

Demonic Resurrection also completed its UK tour this month, during which they played at Wacken Open Air in Germany and Sonisphere Festival. With almost 87000 fans on their official, now verified page, the band is undeniably one of the most popular metal bands in the country.
