BuzzCity rolls out mobile directory for live music events

MUMBAI: In a bid to target music lovers, BuzzCity, mobile media company, has launched a free service called JAMsked (m.jamsked.com), a mobile directory for live music events.

The mobile directory for live music events, JAMsked will offer global listings. However the beta launch is taking a phased approach starting with a focus on Indonesia and Philippines. Listings for Malaysia, Singapore and India are expected in October.

BuzzCity Pvt. Ltd CEO KF Lai said, JAMsked provides an excellent platform for musicians and promoters, to promote their concerts to mobile users at no cost to them....

India is one of the fastest growing countries for mobile Internet usage and the quarterly growth rates for the first half of 2010 shows a 71% increase against the same period last year. Clearly, mobile internet advertising in India is on the rise and this is the space where advertisers have to be in to connect with their customers,... added Lai.

JAMsked aims to attract consumers with the draw of live entertainment, and business appeal to recording artists as a promotional channel on mobile. It continues to support BuzzCity's strategy of encouraging the development of mobile content, which can then be syndicated to independent and carrier sites so as to build their audience base
