Big FM to get new programming for festive seasons

MUMBAI: Big 92.7 FM Mumbai will add new shows and contests to woo its listeners during the festival seasons of Dussherra, Diwali and New Year.

The station has roped in Raju Srivastav of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge fame to co-host the breakfast show Big Chai. Raju Srivastav`s humour capsules will be on-air throughout the day in between different shows.

During the time of the ICC World Cup Twenty20 in September, Big FM will have a show completely dedicated to the Tewnty20 cricket. Besides updating the score, the show will have interviews of cricket celebrities and interactive contest.

Big FM programming head Manav Dhanda explains, "The Twenty20 format is new in India. Through the show we will provide information about the format. The show will also have fun elements which goes very well with cricket which is all about fun."

The station is going to launch a shopping contest during the time of Dusshehra and Diwali. The station will tie-up with various brands across India, the contest will offer shopping discount from 9.27 per cent to 92.7 per cent. A new contest "Chipkae Jeeto" will gift a car to the listener who can touch the special Big FM car for the longest duration of time. Big FM will celebrate the New Year with a contest which will finance the winner for the whole year of 2008. This will include home, grocery and shopping expenses.
