Big FM elevates Viplove Gupte to national programming head

MUMBAI: 92.7 Big FM, the radio arm of Reliance Media World Ltd announced the promotion of Viplove Gupte to national programming head. Gupte, has been part of the programming team in the capacity of associate vice president - programming since May 2008 and has been instrumental in shaping the on-air offerings.

In his new position, Gupte will be responsible for the programming strategy of the stations across the country as he tailors the creative mix for each city treating listeners to pioneering programming initiatives in radio entertainment. Gupte will report to Big FM chief executive officer Tarun Katial.

Gupte's career spans over a decade, dating back to being the creative head at Brainwave Visualiser Pvt. Ltd. in Indore where his main task was to conceptualise and design creative advertising solutions to the clients. He entered the world of radio in 2001 when he joined Radio Mirchi as their programming head for their Indore station before moving to Mirchi Movies in Mumbai as its content head. Having worked closely with the team that developed script shop and script bank, he was instrumental in creating a clear identity for the brand. During his tenure with the company, Gupte also handled radio promotions for India's biggest English language film �Being Cyrus'. Gupte's romance with radio only grew as he moved to My FM in the year 2006 in the position of the national programming head, where he was part of the team that launched over 16 of its stations, including manpower and backend, in record breaking time.

Gupte's expertise lies in building growth through effective trouble shooting as he flexes his creative buds to provide radio listeners clutter-breaking entertainment. His role at 92.7 Big FM promises to offer listeners an aural treat across the stations network.
