Samsung launches smartphone Galaxy Xcover 2

MUMBAI: Expanding the success of its Galaxy series further, Samsung has launched the smartphone ‘Xcover 2’ in the global mobile phone market.

The device is embedded with 4-inch WVGA TFT LCD display, 1GHz dual-core CPU, android 4.1 Jelly Bean, TouchWiz UI, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera, 1GB RAM, 4GB in-built storage with external expansion support up to 32GB, Li-ion 1,700mAh battery, WiFi direct, bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, A-GPS and Glonass.

The handset also features a dedicated camera button, a strap holder, battery cover lock, Motion UI enabling users to shake and update or turn over the device to mute and is also dust, sand and water resistant with IP67 certification.

It comes pre-installed with various apps like ChatON messenger, S-Cloud, S Voice, Best Shot, Smart Stay and apps from the Samsung Hub like Readers Hub, Video Hub, Game Hub and Music Hub. The company has also added the Cardio Trainer Pro workout app to help users achieve their fitness goals by creating a personalized training program, checking their progress and recording their track and speed.

The Galaxy Xcover 2 will be available from February 2013 though the pricing details is yet to be revealed.
