Nokia strengthens Lumia series with smartphones 520 and 720

MUMBAI: Nokia has expanded its Lumia range of devices with the launch of two smartphones 520 and 720 in the Indian market.

Lumia 520 is equipped with 4 inch super sensitive touch-screen, Windows Phone 8, Snapdragon S4 dual-core 1 GHz processor, 5MP auto-focus camera with digital camera lenses, 512MB RAM, 8GB memory and expandable 64GB memory slot, bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, 3G and 1420mAH battery.

It further comes with features like free music streaming, Smart Shoot, Live Tiles and 7GB of free online SkyDrive storage.

The Lumia 720 is embedded with 4.3 inch clear black display, Windows Phone 8, Snapdragon S4 dual-core 1 GHz processor, 6.7 MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera with Carl Zeiss optics, Nokia Music with unlimited music streaming, 512MB RAM, bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, 3G, 2000mAH battery and NFC connectivity.

The handset is further loaded with features like Cinemagraph, Smart Shoot, Glam Me and also comes with a ‘Here’ suite of applications including Here Maps, Here Drive for free turn by turn navigation and Here Transit.

Launching the new devices, Nokia India Middle East Africa director smart devices Vipul Malhotra said, “The WP8 momentum is building and Nokia is charging ahead with the Lumia series. The launch of Nokia Lumia 720 and Nokia Lumia 520 reflects our commitment to build a winning ecosystem that will enrich people's mobile experience and help them connect with each other at newer price points. The two new smart devices will further invigorate brand Nokia with amongst the new generation of smartphone purchasers.”

Both the devices will be available in the market by April, although the pricing details are yet to be revealed.
