MTV and Swipe Telecom unveil dual-SIM fablet 'Volt'

MUMBAI: Technology solutions company Swipe Telecom and MTV, India’s leading youth brand have partnered to launch a 6 inch dual-SIM fablet – MTV Volt.

The device features 6-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive 5-point multi-touch display, 1GHz dual-core MTK 6577 processor, android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, 512MB DDR3 RAM, 4GB of internal storage, expandable memory up to 32GB via microSD, 8MP rear camera with LED flash, 1.3MP front camera, FM radio, GPS with built-in voice-based navigation, accelerometer, 3G, WiFi, bluetooth 4.0 and Li-Ion Polymer 3200 mAh battery.

Viacom18 consumer products SVP and business head Sandeep Dahiya said, “MTV Volt is a ‘made to order’ product for the generation that’s constantly communicating, entertaining and socializing. With features that address their needs and price-point that suits their pockets, we’re confident about MTV Volt by Swipe, to generate a great response. Over the next few months, we plan to develop with Swipe, a diverse portfolio of MTV phones and fablets, built around youth interests and aspirations.”

Swipe Telecom founder and chief executive officer Shripal Gandhi said, “In the recent past we have seen a paradigm shift in the usage of technology like tablet PCs and Fablets amongst the youth in India which has witnessed a CAGR of 59 per cent. The MTV Volt promises to be a perfect muse for tech enthusiasts of the generation next. MTV Volt will be available across 10,000 retail points across India, Swipe e-store and leading online portals. 

The device is priced at Rs 12,999.
