MUMBAI: Lava Mobile has launched an unbreakable series of handset �A16' in association with music channel MTV.

The handset can withstand an impact of 120 kg and is enabled with a 3.2MP camera, 2.6-inch high resolution screen, additional privacy settings and social media applications including facebook. The handset is priced between Rs 4000-5000

Lava Mobile chief marketing officer Sunil Raina said, "As a strategy, the phone is targeted to capture the fast growing youth market. This is a niche phone product for us. The software component has been sourced from India, but the physical structure and styling has been developed at our R&D centre in China in a period of seven months....

As the overall segment has an annual growth of 20-25 percent, the company expects sales to be around five-six lakh units in the January-March quarter, states the release.

Lava mobile will launch another product in association with MTV by the end of next quarter. "Going forward we will launch another phone with MTV. Currently there is no revenue sharing between us; just mutual benefit arising out of individual strengthens. But going forward there may be some sought of revenue sharing arrangement," Raina added.
