Mamta Sharma: Yo Yo Honey Singh gives you a lot of freedom

MUMBAI: Within merely four days of its release, the track 'Ata Majhi Satakli' from the movie 'Singham Returns' has garnered more than two million views on Youtube. The vocals have been rendered by rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, Mamta Sharma and Nitu Choudry.

Talking about the collaboration with Yo Yo Honey Singh to Radioandmusic.com, the 'Munni Badnam' singer Mamta Sharma said, "It just happened all of a sudden. It was in the afternoon, that Yo Yo' s assistant called me up and asked me to come for the recording at 12.30 am. So I went to the studio and waited for Yo Yo till 2.30 am as he was shooting somewhere else." The recording started only in the wee hours of the morning. "The song was made in an hour after which I started recording, and we wrapped up my part in about half an hour," she elaborated.

The song has an element of Lavni in it, thus Sharma was asked to incorporate the same in her voice. When asked if was difficult to do so, she replied, "Not at all. We do sing Marathi songs during stage shows, so it was not difficult. And the best part was since Yo Yo gives you a lot of freedom to do things your way, you obviously have that comfort zone and can bring out your best," said the 'Fevicol Se' singer.

Her future projects include songs in the films like 'Tevar', Welcome Back' and 'Dolly Ki Doli'.
