Tabu and Shraddha Kapoor to render vocals for folk track in 'Haider'

MUMBAI: More and more Bollywood actors seem to be jumping on the bandwagon of turning to singing, with the latest being Padma Shri winner Tabu. According to reports, the 'Cheeni Kum' actress will join Shraddha Kapoor in crooning a traditional Kashmiri song for the upcoming Vishal Bhardwaj film- 'Haider'.

Reports suggest that the track, which the two actresses will be singing, is titled 'Roshe valle'. Apparently, Tabu and Kapoor will also perform the track live for the music launch of the film, which is slated to be held not long from now.

While this will be the first time that Tabu lends vocals for a song, it will be Shraddha Kapoor's second time behind a mic. The 'Luv Ka The End' actress recently sang the song 'Galliyan' for her previous film 'Ek Villain'.

The music for 'Haider' is by the film's producer and director Bhardwaj.

Alongside Tabu and Shraddha Kapoor, the film will also star Shahid Kapoor and Kay Kay Menon. The film, which is set in Kashmir, is said to be an adaptation of the William Shakespeare tragedy play 'Hamlet' and is scheduled for release on 2 October this year.

Recently, actress Alia Bhatt rendered vocals for 'Sooha Sooha' from her 2014 film- 'Highway' and for an unplugged version of 'Samjhawan' for her most recent film 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania'. Bollywood's superstar Salman Khan also recorded a track 'Hangover' for his latest film 'Kick'.
