Yo Yo Honey an avid supporter of sports

MUMBAI: In the cricket crazy nation like India, seldom do you come across a celeb like Yo Yo Honey Singh. The rapper recently bought a Boxing team to promote the sport and now he owns a Kabbadi team in the World Kabbadi League.

The team is named ‘Yo Yo Tigers' and Toronto will host his team. "I like action-based sports and Kabbadi is my favourite. I wanted to be associated with a sport that I really believe in and so I bought a team in World Kabbadi League and it is an honour that Toronto will be hosting my team," said Singh. The event will be covered by the popular channel Sony Six.

A personal venture headed by Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, World Kabaddi League will follow the format of Formula One and will be played across four continents in countries such as UK, USA, Canada, UAE and India, starting August 9 at London.

Ten international teams, comprising top 250 Kabbadi players, will play 94 matches over five months in double round robin format.

"My team will start in October. It is a global event with Brazilian and Mexican players also included in the teams and my aim is to take it to other cities in India like Gujarat and Bangalore," said Yo Yo.
