NEW DELHI: Renowned Bengali music director Rishi Chanda has sent notice to the producers of the film 'Humshakals' alleging that the song 'Callertune' is a direct copy of a tune composed by him in the Bangla film 'Khokababu'.

In a notice sent to the producers Fox Star Studios and Vashu Bhagnani and to music director Himesh Reshammiya, Chanda has said that the song - 'Soniye tu janiye na' - composed by him in January 2012 and the film for which it was composed had both proved to be box-office hit in West Bengal.

It is learnt from sources close to the Bengali maestro that he had said that apart from not having taken his permission for using the tune, no gratitude had been expressed even after the film was made.

Chanda has sent a link of his song and also the tune made by Reshammiya to prove his point.

It is learnt that in the failure of getting a proper reply from the makers of 'Humshakals', Chanda will contemplate legal action under the Copyright Act.
