One Direction confirms sequel to box office hit 'This Is Us'

MUMBAI: UK boy band One Direction is reportedly shooting a sequel to their concert film 'This Is Us'. The pop superstars wrapped up the South American leg of their 'Where We Are' tour, and next week will begin the second leg in Europe. Travelling with them on the tour is producer Ben Winston, which led to rumours of another movie.

The speculation has been put to rest by Morgan Spurlock, director of the band's box office hit from last year. Spurlock confirmed that another One Direction film is in the works saying, "Yes, there will be a follow-up to This Is Us. At this moment Ben Winston is with the band on their world tour filming what happens. He worked with me and is a great producer. "

Reports suggest that this time round, the One Direction team will be looking for more than just box office success. The band's boss- Simon Cowell will be setting his sights on a few awards as well, an Oscar in particular. "I know Simon Cowell wants the band to get awards for this and was upset when they missed out on being nominated in the music category for an Oscar on our film,"Spurlock added.

Citing the example of One Direction's hit track 'Best Song Ever', he said, "It was a good song and I was surprised that they weren't even considered. This time he will want them to try again."
