Asha Bhosale is first Indian artiste to perform at the Carre Theatre

MUMBAI: The Nightingale of Asia, Asha Bhosale is on cloud nine as she becomes the first Indian artiste to perform at the Carre Theatre, Amsterdam on 3 May, 2014. What makes the news even more impressive is that tickets for her show have been sold out.

Excited about the upcoming concert, the songstress took to her Twitter account to update her fans about the same and said, "Amsterdam concert sold out !Promoter tells me that I am the first Indian artiste to perform at the Carre Theatre :-)"

She posted a picture of the rehearsals before the concert. In addition to her Amsterdam concert, Bhosale has two other European shows; one in Netherlands and another in France to promote a new album 'Asha 80’, which is a collaboration with the Metropole Orchestra.

The idea to record a collaborative album emerged after last year's successful concert in honor of her 80th birthday. The diva was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the most recorded artiste in the world, with more than 14,000 recordings. She was invited by the Dutch organization-Live in Europe to organise both, the production of the album as well as the tour. Many golden oldies from her extensive repertoire will be presented in a special arrangement by the Metropole Orchestra.
