Deezer Premium+ for free on Samsung smartphone

MUMBAI: Seoul headquartered Samsung has inked a deal with online music service Deezer. With this deal, the users of the new Galaxy S5 will be able to access Deezer’s Premium+ service free of cost for six months.

The partnership is being rolled-out across Europe and will be available to all new Samsung customers in following countries like UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, Switzerland, Portugal, Greece, Hungary, Bulgaria, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Serbia.

Europe Samsung Electronics Media Solution Center VP Lee Epting said, "This is a significant partnership for Samsung, signalling our commitment to securing the best possible content for our customers. The digital music market is evolving at a phenomenal pace, with people placing less importance on physical ownership and caring more about the availability of music and its accessibility. Our partnership with Deezer offers consumers instant access to a rich and diverse catalogue of content that can be streamed over Samsung’s growing range of connected devices."

The unlimited usage service for six months can be availed by registering with Deezer using a credit or debit card. It offers the option to opt out at any point of time. The premium service is usually priced around ?60.

Deezer CEO Axel Dauchez said, "This is a momentous collaboration. Samsung is creating some of the most innovative devices around at the moment, while we are offering the most intuitive and personalised music service there is. Together we are in a position to offer people the best music experience available."

The service boasts more than 16 million unique users and five million paid subscribers, across more than 180 countries. Its library contains more than 30 million tracks. Recently, it partnered with AdsWizz to monetise its growing global audience. This deal will allow it to receive audio ads from advertising agencies and networks around the world.
