MUMBAI: The annual electronic dance music festival-Tomorrowland, which will be held in Belgium for the first time in its 10 year history, has decided to televise the event through MTV. The channel has signed a deal to become the exclusive international broadcast partner for Tomorrowland 2014.

It will air original content, incorporating live events and documentary footage as part of its MTV World Stage franchise. The line-up of artistes has also been announced via Facebook. The fest which will take place in July, will feature Tiësto, Armin Van Buuren, Hardwell, Afrojack, Carl Cox, Alesso, Martin Garrix, Above & Beyond, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Benny Benassi, Paul van Dyk and many others. There will be more additions to the list which will be out soon.

MTV will play two hours of festival footage as part of the MTV World Stage franchise, which runs across MTV's 60+ international channels in nearly 170 territories and is available in 550 million homes around the globe.

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) talent and music programming/events EVP Bruce Gillmer said, "Tomorrowland is a festival in a category of its own, so we are excited to bring this content to MTV's international audiences."

He further added, "Electronic dance music has been part of MTV's repertoire for almost two decades, stretching right back to the early years -- particularly in Europe. So working with Tomorrowland is a perfect fit, and connects us with the new generation of EDM fans and followers around the world."

The two 60-minute World Stage: Tomorrowland specials are scheduled to premiere in August 2014.

The festival has already sold 360,000 tickets for the 2014 edition in less than one hour to guests from over 190 countries. As part of the promotion of the award winning festival, they have organised a contest which allows a winner along with three friends to come to the festival.

In addition to the World Stage broadcast, MTV also announced that it will be developing a documentary celebrating Tomorrowland's 10-year history which is expected to be released in late 2014.
