MUMBAI: Popular Indian pop, jazz and playback singer Usha Uthup has lent her voice to actor Kangana Ranaut for her upcoming film 'Revolver Rani', for the first time.

Music composer Sanjeev Srivastava roped in Uthup to sing the title track of the film. A source said, "Ushaji has sung the title track of 'Revolver Rani'. We wanted someone who had a husky deep voice and who better than Ushaji to sing. It is for the first time that she is singing for Kangana.” Ranaut will be seen playing the role of a Gangster in the upcoming film.

The song has a '70s disco theme and describes 'Revolver Rani' in a most colourful fashion and classic Usha Uthup punch. The lyrics to the soundtrack have been given by Puneet Sharma and Shaheen Iqbal. The music will be released under the T-Series banner.

'Revolver Rani' is a satirical and unusual love story set against the backdrop of politics. Starring in the lead role is stand-up comedian and frontman of comedy rock band Alien Chutney, Vir Das, and actor/composer/songwriter Piyush Mishra in a supporting role. The film, which directed and written by Sai Kabir, is slated to release on 25 April 2014.

Uthup previously lent her voice for the song 'Darling' from the movie 'Saat Khoon Maaf' which featured actress Priyanka Chopra as the female lead.
