MUMBAI: Robbie Williams has been given an ultimatum by his former Take That mate- Gary Barlow. According to reports, Barlow has told his former band member that he has until May to decide whether or not he will be joining the band on its next tour.

According to reports, Take That will soon be heading into the studio to record a new album, before they can set out on a national tour. And in a recent interview, Barlow said that he "needs" Williams to commit to the upcoming project. The former X Factor judge, told 'Chatty Man' host Alan Carr that the band was already in the process of writing, and the record would most likely be ready by Christmas and a tour next year.

"The thing with Robbie is he's family with us now. If he's not in the band he'll write on the record and you know we'll work with him on his next record," Barlow said. "We'd need to know what we're doing by the end of May"

Barlow also revealed that the band has some good material ready, but has not yet decided on an album name. He also added that they were excited about their upcoming album.

At the moment, Williams seems to be enjoying fatherhood after welcoming his first daughter Theodora in September 2012. The 'Angels' hit maker was part of the pop group Take That for a number of years before walking away from it in 1995. He went on to have a successful solo career, selling more than 70 million records worldwide. However, he did join his former band on tour from 2010 to 2011. Last November he launched the album 'Swings Both Ways', a follow up to his 2001 swing album 'Swing When You're Winning'.
