Manmeet of Meet Brothers talks about 'Baby Doll'

MUMBAI: With hits like 'Pinky' from the film 'Zanjeer', the 'Meet Brothers' and Anjjan are no strangers to success. But their latest track –'Baby Doll', an overnight sensation, has made the trio top the wish list of producers.

Talking to Radioandmusic.com about the process of composing the song, Manmeet Singh, one of the Meet Brothers said, "We recorded the song last year after we made 'Pinky'. The best part was that we were given creative freedom and there was no interference whatsoever."

The composers chose Kanika Kapoor to sing the track because it would suit Sunny Leone's accent. "Both Sunny and Kanika have similar accents, but at the same time we wanted to retain the folkish tone in the song," elaborated Singh.

The song became an instant hit and Singh himself never expected this kind of response. "Each song has its own destiny and journey which is scripted by God. You never know what actually worked and the song became a huge hit. Thus we refuse to take credit for the same and thank God," explained the composer. The other song composed by Meet Brothers is 'Party Toh Banti Hai' from the film Bhootnath Returns. "Not even in our dreams we could think that our song will be picturised on Amitabh sir," exclaimed Singh.

As artistes, the brothers preferred to stay singers rather than become music composers for Bollywood. "In the past, we had composed songs which went unnoticed, and the only way to make our presence felt was through Bollywood," he said. They also have a band called Meet Brother and Band.

Singh also commented on the copyright issue saying, "I trust the labels and the members at SAI and ISRA that they will definitely come to a conclusion where everyone will be happy because at the end of the day, both of them have to work together."
