MUMBAI: After receiving an amazing response for his song 'Saaiyan', from the film 'Gunday', Shahid Mallya has rendered his vocals for the song 'Iski Uski' from the film '2 States' starring Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kppoor. The music of the film is composed by the trio, Shankar Ehasaan Loy.
Talking to Radioandmusic.com about working with SEL, he said, "The best part of working with Shankar Sir was that he talks to the singers in a very respectable manner and this is where you actually realise the humility of the person." Mallya got a little cautious while singing as Shankar Mahadevan himself is a singer.
The song is picturised on the film's lead actor, Arjun Kapoor when he enters college. "It will remind you of the song, 'Kukkad' from the movie 'Student of the Year'," he elaborated. The song was recorded a year ago and the final changes in the lyrics were made a month back. In addition to the film '2 States' Shahid Mallya is also singing a song for the upcoming film 'Phantom' starring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif.
Apart from the Bollywood assignments, Mallya is also taking a deep interest in creating his own band and has been in the process of recording the songs. The album is expected to release in the next three or four months.
