Sohail Sen was very confident about my voice: Neeti Mohan

Neeti Mohan has already made a mark in the industry with songs like 'Jiya Re' from Jab Tak Hai Jaan and 'Ishqwala Love', from the film Student of the Year. With the latest being 'Tune Mari Entriyaan', from the film Gunday, Mohan is clearly on cloud nine.

While talking with Radioandmusic.com's Dhairya Ingle about her latest track with music composer Sohail Sen, she said, “As soon as Sohail played it, I fell in love with it. What I felt was he knew what he wanted from me, and liked the throw of my voice. Which is why I sang the song and fortunately it has been a big hit. The best part was that he was very confident about my voice.” With KK, Vishal Dadlani and Bappi Lahiri as her co singers, she felt that making mistakes was not acceptable.

The singer has also lent her voice for the track 'Khamakhaan' from the upcoming film Bewakoofiyaan, which will star Ayushmann Khurrana, Sonam Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor. Composing the music for the film is Raghu Dixit. This is the second time Mohan has teamed up with singer, composer and actor Ayushmann Khurrana.

'Khamakhaan', is a conversational song and is quite different as compared to the ones she has sung before. “The recording was done a year back and the only criteria, was that my voice should suit Sonam Kapoor. Since it was more of a conversational song, we just recorded it in one go,” she explained. Mohan feels privileged to have worked with the composer Raghu Dixit, and felt that he was taking a risk by allowing her to sing the track, as she was only a couple of songs old at the time.

When asked about her upcoming projects, Mohan remains tightlipped, though she reveals that she will be teaming up with a lot of new composers in the near future.
