"Pepsi MTV Indies to me is like catching the last train" Raghu Dixit

The launch of Pepsi MTV Indies will be a platform for promoting all indie artistes and with the opening gig for the evening already in motion, performers are all set to put up a good show.

The list of performers, include one of the most renowned names in the indie space- Raghu Dixit. Talking about the how the channel will help indie artistes Dixit said, "Initially the artistes only had to depend on college gigs and the internet for popularity, but now with the presence of Pepsi MTV Indies, we have a big big platform for showcasing our talents. For me personally it was like catching the last train."

Dixit divulged that in spite of having a video album 'Antaragni' ready in 2007, he had to wait a few years before he could actually make his mark. The reason being, at the time MTV played Bollywood music only, provoking him to launch the album on his own. "Hopefully, with this channel, artistes will have a fan following and will start attending gigs," he further added.

He also intends to shoot videos for the channel. "With the presence of a platform like this we have a reason to spend on shooting high quality videos. Initially, despite shooting a good video, you just had to put it up on the internet," he explained.

Dixit has collaborated with Karsh Kale for the launch gig and has jammed with him earlier. When asked about what he will be playing for the evening he said, "Honestly, we have not decided anything and it is going to be something that is very impromptu." He also wishes to team up with Kale for an electronic album.
