Katy Perry releases trailer clip for 'Dark Horse' video

MUMBAI: Since claiming the number one spot on the Hot 100 chart on 29 January 2013, Katy Perry's 'Dark Horse' has been at the top of the chart for three consecutive weeks. While the track was first released in December 2013, it still does not have an official video. But that will change on 20 February, when the music video is scheduled for release.

On Thursday, the 'Roar' singer posted a link to the track's promo video along with a message that read, “MEET THE QUEEN OF MEMPHIS (Egypt, that is).” Most of the 33 second clip tells a story with the help of several animated Egyptian hieroglyphics. But the most interesting part of the video lies in the last few seconds of the video. Taking on the title 'Katy-Patra', the singer appears dressed as the historic Egyptian ruler- Cleopatra (and sporting a lot of bling), sitting on a large golden throne.

The video ends with the question, “Who will win her heart?” The video which will be released later this month also features rapper Juicy J.

'Dark Horse' is the third single of Perry's latest album 'Prism'. It was more successful than the album's second single 'Unconditionally', and became the 29 year old singer's ninth number one single. The 'Firework' singer will also embark on her third world tour this May.
