Megadeth to headline the first edition of MTV Xtreme

MUMBAI: On 16 February, LIVE Viacom18 will host its very first rock music cum sports adventure festival- MTV Xtreme. The festival is set to take place at Buddh International Circuit, Noida and will feature some of the top rock bands in the country.

Headlining the premier edition of MTV Xtreme will be American thrash metal band- Megadeth. Speaking about coming to India again and headlining the festival, Megadeth vocalist/ guitarist and founder Dave Mustaine said, "India is such an enchanting place and has been very welcoming to us. It has always been a great experience to perform here and the Indian fans can compete with head bangers anywhere around the world! Headlining the 1st edition of MTV Xtreme, a one of its kind new rock music and adventure sports festival has made this trip even more exciting, and added to our musical experience."

The platinum album selling band will also be joined by some of India's top acts including Parikrama, Indus Creed, Pentagram, Blakc and Providence.

The festival will also cater to thrill seekers as it will include BMX, Parkour and motorbike stunts. Among the international extreme sports professionals will be Parkour specialist Ryan Doyle, Ghost Ryderz- an Indian biker group and other world class acts.

Speaking about the riveting experience offered by MTV Xtreme, Aditya Swamy, executive vice president and business head, MTV India says, "Young people are always looking for ways to maximise their experiences and what better than to showcase the best in rock music and best in adventure sports on one single platform. In addition to extreme sports and rock music, the festival will also include a flea market (Xtreme Haat), food stall, tattoo stall and much more. It will also feature an 'Xtreme Consumer Zone' which will enable festival goers a chance to experience the thrill of skate boarding, BMX biking and Parkour.
